The Salty Shepherd was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Rosie went well out of her way to ensure the most comfortable stay possible. It was impossible not to wind down in such a fantastic location and the hut struck the perfect balance of stylish design and cosiness. The venue could not have been better and felt miles from anywhere without being isolate. It is a unique and wonderful place to stay and I enjoyed every single second. Thank you Rosie – you have created somewhere very special. Rachel 2017
Rosie is a friendly and helpful host, practically arriving at the hut the moment we needed anything. She was full of enthusiasm about the local wildlife and area. We saw hares, marsh harriers, barn owls and badgers all from the huge window in the hut at the foot of the bed which was magical. The hut is perfect – stylish decoration, highly practical and immaculate. We loved curling up beneath the blankets with the wood-burner after days out walking. Wonderful location from which to explore and truly unwind. The skies from the hut seem huge with stunning sunsets – you feel a million miles from anywhere. Just perfect! Alicja 2017
The Salty Shepherd was a brilliant escape from it all. Waking up, and seeing the beautiful view out of the window at the end of the bed was lovely. The peace and tranquility was just what we needed. Also the layout inside and design of everything was so well thought out. The breakfast foods that we had pre-ordered from Rosie were delicious, and the best bacon eggs and sausages! With the beach being so close too, it’s the perfect retreat. We’ll definitely be going back! Marisa 2016
Our weekend stay in the Salty Shepherd was absolutely perfect. The hut is thoughtfully designed so it’s both stylish and practical – we had everything we needed. The log burner made it very cosy, and we were never chilly. We’d definitely recommend ‘ordering’ one of Rosie’s breakfasts – we cooked up a delicious Full English using her fresh, local ingredients. We enjoyed a long walk on Camber Sands beach, explored Rye (visited Knoops for BOWLS of hot chocolate, The Globe and The Standard Inn – recommend all three), and just generally enjoyed the peaceful silence! All in all, if you’re looking for a relaxing escape, looking no further than the Salty Shephard. We can’t wait to come back for some summer BBQs! – Ian 2016
We run our own business & so escape time is uber important to us – to unwind & chill & being married & business partners – have some time, just us…we found Salty Shepherd on Air BnB & I was instantly drawn to its charm & unique. It absolutely didn’t disappoint. The interior has been done beautifully – details really matter & Rosie has thought of everything – it was a feast for the eyes both internally & externally…soft towels, the comfiest bed, mini wood burner, huge window at the foot of the bed, meaning you can gaze at the expansive view…great shower, candles, home made fudge… We took food & were easily able to make dinner & breakfast – then treated ourselves to lunch at The Globe (recommended by Rosie)…new fav pub! What a special place & that’s hard to create – some places / people have it – some don’t – this does – in spades !! Huge thank you to our hosts for making our short time special & relaxed – we will be back & recommend to others – Anna & Mark 2016
Our night at The Salty Shepherd was really wonderful. Secluded, cosy and such a lovely surrounding. I’d highly recommend this little spot of magic – Hamish 2015
The hut is beautiful, exactly as depicted in the photographs – remote, peaceful and in a gorgeous setting and utterly luxurious and comfortable inside. The perfect place to relax and recharge your batteries – Heather 2015.
Fab night away at this blissfully relaxing retreat. Only negative… we only had one night at this oasis. Hope to return ASAP – Emily 2015.

Our host was welcoming but never intrusive. The setting was unexpectedly relaxing because of the flat yet restful landscape. Everything provided exuded quality and comfort and we appreciated the locally sourced produce included in our breakfast basket – Jan 2015.
When we drove up we had no idea what to expect. It is such a wonderful and unique place to stay. A perfect little oasis in the middle of vast land and sky. Inside is perfection – we loved the Romney Wool blankets, the window at the foot of the bed, the towels, the sheets, everything. The attention to detail is wonderful. This is glamping at its finest. Thank you so much for sharing it with us, we’d love to visit again! Will 2015.
